Kayak on the Lake is an experience-inspired painting. A 16″x20″ acrylic on canvas, this painting actually covers several painted on this same canvas. I typically work from life or a photograph, but since I wasn’t confident enough in my abilities as a kayaker to bring my new phone out with me, I took some time to absorb the scenery and the atmosphere one September sunset. I then brought these memories to the canvas and let the brush do the work.
